If you are looking for covered RV storage in Fort Myers, you will find two different products under similar names. One is a roof over a parking spot. The other is a closed unit. Here is what each one does for your rig.
Covered storage
A covered space is a roof on posts. It keeps direct sun and falling rain off the top of your rig. Most covered spaces are open on the sides, so humidity, salt air and blowing rain still reach it. Most are rented month to month.
Indoor storage
Indoor storage adds walls and a door. In Southwest Florida, sun and humidity crack paint and rot interiors, so the closed door does real work. An air-conditioned unit keeps both out.

What this looks like at Vehicle Fortress

Our units are built for big rigs. We have 65 ft drive aisles, garage doors 14 ft tall and 15 or 20 ft wide, 19 ft clear height, and units 40, 50 or 60 ft deep. Every unit has air conditioning and a 50-amp RV outlet, individually metered.
Access is through a coded gate, with an 8 ft perimeter fence, 24/7 cameras and a private keypad code for each unit. We are Storm-Tested: no leaks, flooding or power loss through Irma and Ian, at 24 ft elevation.
Rent or own
Covered spaces are usually rented, and the rent can go up. A Vehicle Fortress unit is a deeded condominium. You hold title, you build equity and you have a vote in the association. You can also lease your unit out.
Which one fits you
If you need a short-term spot and a low monthly cost, a covered space can do the job. If you plan to keep your rig for years and want it fully protected, compare the cost of ownership with what you pay in rent.

The same choice applies to boats. See our indoor boat storage condos.
