Measuring your boat

  • Length: use the overall length on the trailer, from the tongue to the back of the motors, not the hull length.
  • Height: garage doors are 14 ft tall. Measure to the top of the T-top, hardtop or radar arch while the boat is on its trailer.

Send us your rig's length and height and we’ll match you to the right unit: contact form or (239) 591-4700.

Out of the weather

Every unit is enclosed and air-conditioned. Your boat stays out of the sun, salt air and humidity that wear down gelcoat, canvas, upholstery and electronics.

Own it, don't rent it

Every unit is a deeded condominium. You hold title, build equity and get a vote in the owner-controlled association. There's no landlord, so there are no rent increases.

Keep your tools, tackle and gear in the same unit as the boat.

Boat storage FAQ

How is a boat storage condo different from a dry-stack marina or a rented boat space?

A dry-stack marina keeps your boat on a rack for a monthly or yearly fee, and a rented space is a bill with no equity. At Vehicle Fortress you own a deeded, enclosed, air-conditioned unit and keep your boat on its own trailer. There's no water access or launch service on site, so you tow it to the ramp yourself.

Will my boat fit on its trailer?

Garage doors are 14 ft tall, and 15 or 20 ft wide depending on the unit. Units are 40, 50 or 60 ft deep. Measure your boat's overall length on the trailer, from the tongue to the back of the motors, not the hull length. Measure its height to the top of the T-top, hardtop or radar arch while it's on the trailer. Send us those numbers at (239) 591-4700 or info@philpugh.com and we'll match you to the right unit.

Can I store my truck or a second vehicle with the boat?

It depends on the unit size and your rig. Units are 40, 50 or 60 ft deep, and two units can be combined into 2,100 sq ft for more room. Tell us what you want to store and we'll suggest a unit.

Is it safe from theft?

The campus has a coded gate, an 8 ft perimeter fence and cameras recording 24/7. Each owner sets a private keypad code, and owners have access 24 hours a day.

How did the buildings do in Hurricanes Irma and Ian?

Vehicle Fortress came through Hurricanes Irma and Ian with no leaks, no flooding and no loss of power. The buildings sit 24 ft above sea level, above storm surge, with concrete-block, hurricane-rated construction and a monitored fire alarm and sprinkler system.
